  ECS K7S7AG GameUnion SiS 746 + Xabre200 Mainboard Gallery (4)
Bluetooth 20 Dec 2002

The ECS K7S7AG BIOS is an AMIBIOS just like the K7S5A. It has very little settings that you can meddle with. In the Advance Chipset Setup, there are settings like the Graphic Win Size which was default to 64M, we set it to 128M, DRAM CAS default 2.5, we set it to 2. There is also a DRAM timing and options available are SPD, FAST, TURBO, ULTRA.

PCI IDE Busmaster was disabled by default. We enabled it in our setup.

Here is a screen shot of the BIOS showing the on board devices that can be enabled or disabled.

One of the more exciting options available is the possibility of enabling Async CPU:MEM ratio. This settings reminds me to SiS 648 boards. There are many options here for you to choose from.

The CPU Overclocking frequency ranges from 100 ~ 165 in my case, I suppose it can go further since I do not have a 166Mhz (2700+, 2800+ CPU). If you insert a CPU that runs 133Mhz, the FSB range selectable is from 133 ~ 165. If it's a Duron, then you can select up to 132Mhz FSB. So I suppose if you have a 166Mhz CPU, you can select up to 200Mhz FSB all at 1mhz steppings.

It's a pity that this board does not provide any multiplier settings nor voltage selections. I hope a newer bios would include all this or probably a newer board like the L7S7A would provide all this facilities.
