As you probably already know, SiS648 features async DDR400 unofficial timings. The new 963 South bridge which brings more performance with ATA-133 interface and USB 2.0. Firewire 1394A is also part of the specifications making the SiS648 a potential choice for multimedia freaks which needs huge blocks of data transfer using either USB 2.0 or IEEE 1394 interfaces. This board also has the S-ATA interface for high speed disk transfers. It also has RAID support by Highpoint HPT372 chipset.

On top of that the SiS963 South bridge chipset is paired with the SiS 648 North Bridge through a 1 GB/s MutIOL channel. This doubles the bandwidth between the North and South from the previous 512MB/s. AGP 8x is supported on this new chipset.
