Gigabyte SINXP1394 SiS 655 Dual Channel DDR Mainboard Review (3)
Overclocker 23 Jan 2003

Benchmarking

Before we benchmark, we document the FSB the board is running at. Below is a chart that shows the FSB (default by BIOS) for the 11 boards we use in this review : Gigabyte SINXP1394 default is 133.9Mhz.

With Dual channel DDR333, we can see a great jump in memory benchmark results. A high score of 3413/3413 obtained using 2 x 256MB module running in async DDR333 mode. At a high of 3413/3413, it has overtaken the RIMM4200 solution having the best memory bandwidth. Would that translate to better performance. We managed to overclocked our P4 1.8A to 133 (~P4 2.4G) and 143Mhz for the tests. In our overclocking test, we can only reach a max of 139mhz with this processor. When we install the DPS, we were able to get it running steadily at 143Mhz FSB scoring a high of 3520/3531 in SPD mode (CAS 2.5 , 3-3-6).
