Benchmarking

Tyan Tachyon G9700 Pro is the top performance card of the Tyan's Tachyon series. As we know, Tyan is well known for its quality boards for servers. As it ventures into high end graphics cards, we will expect the similar kind of reliability and performance too.

G9700Pro, featuring the Radeon 9700Pro VPU is one of the fastest supporting DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL 1.3. With 128M of DDR memory, it allows faster rendering of complex 3D graphics and gaming.

To date, the Tachyon G9700Pro is the only 9700Pro card that supports hardware monitoring. The application in the CD-ROM allows you to monitor the fan, voltage and temperature. This allows you to closely monitor the card to ensure maximum stability during overclocking of the card. This software is known as TGM (Tachyon Graphics Monitor).

The Tachyon Graphics Monitor (TGM) is a software utility for Windows® that was specially designed for the Tachyon Series Graphics Cards. TGM 1.0 (now available on the Tachyon G9700 PRO) allows you to separately tune the speed of core clock and memory clock on the card, while at the same time displaying details of the card's system information and your hardware's key indicators.

Let's take a look at the package and the card on the next page.
