ASUS W1000 Notebook Launch (1)

ASUS, a leading Taiwanese IT company launched its new series of centrino based notebook today at Marriot Hotel, Singapore. On display were some award winning notebooks and the MyPAL A716 PDA which is the only PDA that has two slots supporting both CF and SD.

This new notebook is presented by ASUS representatives from Taiwan. This new series is equipped with the following specs below. We managed to get a glimpse of it running games using the on board Radeon 9600 which gives super crisp clear image. There was a demonstration of it playing Half Life 2.

With the wide screen of 15.4 inch widescreen, it gives you a cinematic view of DVDs encoded in 16:9 format. The notebook also comes loaded with lots of expansion capabilities and that includes USB and 1394 ports. There is also a built in card reader that supports the common formats. There is also a remote control which allows you to place this notebook as the centre of a multimedia centre.

This notebook also features the exclusive power-saving technology: Power4 Gear+ allows you to control CPU speed to maximize battery performance. ASUS Power4 Gear+, the all-new battery conservation feature, automatically and intelligently adjusts CPU speed according to system load. Offering eight different modes designed for gaming, watching DVDs, listening to music, processing documents etc., this innovation maximizes battery life for reliable operation.
