ECS is fast this time round and is almost ready with its KV2 Extreme board based on the VIA K8T800Pro chipset for the Socket 939 CPU supporting Dual Channel DDR 400 for the K8 64 bits processor.

The board has a Form Factor ATX Size (305mm*244mm), is a 6 layer design and is extremely clean and features a 3 phase design with a +12v connector to ensure stability. The CPU socket is Socket 939 and will support the newer yet to be released CPUs supporting dual channel DDR400. We can see 4 DIMM slots supporting up to 4 GB of memory running in Dual Channel DDR mode.

This board has an amazing amount of options for expansion. Firstly for storage, it has 4 SATA ports, 2 with RAID and 2 without. They are supported by both the VIA South Bridge VT8237 and the SIS 180 controller chipset.

and another VIA VT6103 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet PHY
