Sony Ericsson K500i Triband GSM 900/1800/1900 Camera
Phone Review (1)
SonyEricsson K500i, the little brother of K700i
You have probably read our K700i review posted last week. It is truly an amazing phone but its price is somewhat unreachable for most. For users who require basic phone functions with camera, the K500i would probably be more suitable for a mass market in contrast to the more expensive K700i.
The phone has a icon based menu. It has a screen display of 128 x 160 pixels pixels for displaying information. With 16 bits colour depth, the screen images looks good but under strong sunlight, it appears dim. The phone has a dimension of 102 x 46 x 14 mm and weighs 80g.
The K500i is the little brother of K700i. It has a subset feature set of the K700i. The K500i has no radio tuner and bluetooth. It's memory is limited to 12MB in contrast to 41MB on the K700i. You still get a camera but the quality on K500i is not as good as K700i. It supports up to extended mode (1280x960) but does not support Panorama mode.
K500i comes with a max talktime of 8 hrs and a standby time of 300hrs. Ringtones supported format is MIDI and MP3. Video Recording is supported 3GP format. Java is also supported and you can install your favourite 3D games via GPRS or IrDA. You can play your favourite 3D SuperRealTen Tennis game on K500i.
