ForceWare 81.84

Today, NVIDIA releases another ForceWare version 81.84. It seems coincidental that it is released just one day right after its competitor prepares its CrossFire solutions.

So what is new in 81.84 ? Well, would it be something that is as special as what we brought to you before in ver 77.77, SLI without bridge. Well, you can think along that line. Version 81.84 brings more surprises as it not only add in new game titles, bug fixes, it also incorporate what its competitor have. That is, you can now use different branded cards (of the same core) and run them in tandem.

What does that mean ? Basically, it means that you already own a XXX brand, you can now upgrade to SLI by purchasing a YYY brand and plug in the SLI bridge. Everything will work perfectly. This was not possible in previous versions (as far as I know, unless you flash the same firmware into both cards).

This driver fixes some issues found on Release 75 drivers on Black and White including:
- Performance slowdown on GeForce 6 and 7 series GPUs
- Texture corruption on GeForce 6 series GPUs
- Adds SLI profile for the best out of box experience

In addition this new driver also adds many new features for our GPUs that function properly and reviewers can immediately test including:
- Increased performance for GeForce GPUs
- SLI Mixed vendor support
- Dynamic SLI with no reboot when using a single monitor
- PureVideo and HDTV enhancements
