Sony Ericsson Z1010 3G/GSM 900/1800 Camera Phone Review (1)

Sony Ericsson Z1010

Sony Ericsson Z1010 is the first Sony Ericsson 3G phone we review. With a size that is slightly bigger than most conventional 2G phones, Z1010 has a feast of features that is not readily found on most 3G phones.

The Z1010 comes in the clamshell form factor. When it is closed, the size is slightly bigger than the SE K700i. The thickness is 1.5x more of K700i. When flipped open, the phone resembles those of Samsung 2G phones with dual camera, one found below the main LCD screen and the other is on the exterior of the phone.

Z1010 has an external display which shows the date/time and battery and signal strength. The internal is a 65K 176 x 220 pixels colour screen. For entertainment, the phones comes with Java MIDP 2.0 support. There is also Mediaplayer which supports MP3, 3GP and MIDI playback. The pity is it does not come with FM Radio.

Connectivity wise, the Z1010 supports Bluetooth, infra red and USB connectivity which I can use to transfer images easily. The phone supports external memory stick duo for storage of multimedia clips.
