New CPU with Old Board

If you own a the ASRock 939Dual-SATA2, the popular board based on discontinued ULI now NV M1695 chipset, you are in luck. ASRock has updated its BIOS to ensure compatibility with the newest BE-XXXX series of processors to run on this board via the AM2 CPU Board.

This CPU can be overclocked easily via the BIOS and it reached 260 x 9.5, HT multiplier set to 600MHz (3X). It is not bad for the 2.31C BIOS overclocking the 1.9GHz processor to 2.47GHz considering you have to go through the AM2 CPU board.

Nevertheless, the board is still one of the most popular boards around. You can download this beta BIOS, flash it in to support this new processor.
