Connection to HDTV using the HDMI interface

ASUS M2A-VM HDMI with the HDMI cable connected to the 42" 1366x768 TV screen. The following are screen shots of the riser card which sits directly into the PCIe slot of the mainboard. Once that is done, you can actually choose to output video in Component video or TV out or HDMI. As for audio, there is a SPDIF port which you can output the audio to your HIFI.

As we do not have a HDMI passthru HIFI equipment, we are unsure whether it is plain PCM 2 ch being delivered out or is it 5.1.

From my own observation, the image quality is so much better compared to before. Previously I was using D-SUB from another PC to output WMVHD discs. One thing to note is that the current AVIVO does not work with AVC1 h.264 clips. Playing back high resolution material has never been so perfect until we use HDMI.
