Introduction

Small PC users always go for microATX boards. ECS G33T-M2 is probably just one of the boards available that could be considered for that purpose.

ECS G33T-M2 is based on the Intel G33/ICH9 chipset pair and supports the LGA775 socket for latest IntelĀ® Core 2 Quad(95W) / Core 2 Duo / Pentium Dual-Core (E21XX) / Celeron 4XX series processor FSB 1333/1066/800 MHz. As it already comes with an integrated IntelĀ® Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 (GMA3100) with a max Dynamic Video Memory : 287MB (Vista) / 384MB (XP), you can save on a graphics card. For the more demanding graphics users, you can pair up the board with an external graphics card using the PCIe x16 interface.

The board comes with 4 DIMM DDR2 slots supporting up to 8GB of memory. It also has 4 SATAII ports for connecting HDD. For the multimedia users, there is 8 ch audio, 10 USB ports and  GbE for quick transfer of large multimedia files.

Although the package looks simple, it seems that the ECS G33T-M2 is aimed at the novice and it already has enough horse power to power your latest processors. IN the next few pages, we take a look at the layout and bios.
