Introduction
As you are probably aware, the 8600GT is one of the most overclockable DX10 GPUs to date. Based on Nvidia GeForce 8600 Series, GeForce 8600 GT Turbo is the overclocked version of GeForce 8600 GT and provides a level of performance about 10% higher than the standard version. It is fully compatible with Microsoft DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0. GeForce 8600 GT Turbo is powered by Nvidia new unified architecture capable of dynamically allocating compute, geometry, shading and pixel processing power for optimized GPU performance. It is also equipped with Nvidia latest technologies, such as SLI and PureVideo HD for an even greater visual experience.
This card uses a Zalman cooler and is factory overclocked to
625/900, shader clk at 1375MHz. The standard NV 8600GT is clocked at 500/800 and
shader clock is at 1200MHz.
Although it is factory overclocked to 625MHz, we see great potential and
overclock it furthur. Check out the next few pages how far we can achieve in our
comparison with a 8600GTS card. Will it be able to match the performance levels
of a 8600GT.
