By the way Bluetooth, Is their any way of finding out what the many abbreviations mean in the BIOS settings?
Some of those extra RAM settings are total gibberish to the average joe like me and ASrock aren't to forth-coming in their explanations.
As for trial and error, I know it can be fatal to your equipment.

It won't be fatal . A lot of those ram timings for examples are not known. The only known parameters are CAS, Trcd ,trp trd , cmd rate. the rest are usually untouched.

Thanks for that. My timings have gone up from 4-4-4-12 with a ratio of 1:1 to 5-5-5-15 with a ratio of 3:5. Is there any point in going for 4-4-4-12 1:1? cmd rate is 2T.

It will be similar actually but you get more bandwidth.
In fact, since Intel Core 2 duo came out, whether you run it at tight timings 1:1 or loose timings at 3:4, you wouldn't see much of an advantage.

That is probably why ram makers are trying hard to sell you their DDR3-1800, DDR3-2000 etc but at a loose CAS latency at 7,8 or even 9.

Ok. I think then my next addition will be to go for more memory as I've on 2gb installed.
I've heard much about Win XP only utilising/recognising upto 4gb of RAM.
Do I go for DDR 2 800 or aim lower? I'm on a 32bit system and very likely won't even be "VistaIng" for a while yet.
