ASUS P4T Introduction Right after we reviewed ABIT TH7 RAID, Pentium 4 board, we turn our attention to another P4 board, ASUS P4T. ASUS P4T has been around for quite some time and has proven to be a stable and good performance winner. In this review, we will compare the results in comparison to ABIT TH7 in terms of performance and overclockability. In our tests, we are able to overclock the Intel P4 1.4G to 1.5G using a FSB of 112Mhz. At that speed, the memory benchmarks are rocket high as recorded on Sisoft Sandra 2001. Before we go into the details, let's have a look at the package below. The package This particular package comes with 256MB PC800 RAMBUS. The package comes with the pretty well written manual, cables and USB Card and the heatsink retention kit. Seriously, it is a chore to setup the heatsink retention unit. There is also a metal base plate for you to fasten the retention unit onto the base plate. For me, I took the easy way out by place it on the Senfu Kit. I covered the CPU core with thermal paste and fasten the Intel heatsink. In fact, I recommend you to follow the instructions written in the manual to install your system correctly to prevent any problems that might arise due to short circuiting etc. |
