ECS K7S5A (1)
Overclocker 3 Aug 2001

In May, we reviewed the SiS 735 DDR Reference board and was impressed by it's performance. To date, I received many emails enquiring the release or production boards by manufacturers. Well, the wait is over, ECS Elitegroup K7S5A is finally here and it's already in mass production and on sale in retail channels.

Packaged in a yellow paper box, it bundles with the supporting CDROM, FDD, HDD cables and a easy to read manual. The mainboard is elegantly painted in black and it definitely looks very class. Something that is different from the SiS reference board is that it supports both 2 DDR or 2 SDR RAM, making it one of the flexible SDR/DDR boards out there. The K7S5A also comes with a built-in 10/100BaseT port for your network connections.

In the next few pages, we will take a closer look at the mainboard specifications, performance and functionalities.
