Gigabyte 7DXR Page 1
Overclocker 7 Feb 2001

If you have been reading our reviews, we reviewed the 7DX pretty early and is quite impressed with the benchmark readings of the AMD based DDR solution. Right after GA-7DX, Gigabyte catch the wave again with yet another version - 7DXR. 7DXR features some of the best of the breed features similar to the 7ZXR(2.1). Gigabyte is seriously making in roads into the overclocking world. This new DDR board has multiplier, FSB, Vi/o, Vcore, Vagp settings and most importantly RAID support using the Promise chipset and comes with an AGP Pro Slot.

I tested the board and it is able to run at 150Mhz steadily (6x150)!! using the Crucial DDR SDRAM. You can see the standard dip switches as in any Gigabyte boards. Well, let me share with you a secret! You can now tune the FSB all within BIOS (using a secret key stroke, read on), but for multipliers, voltage and the rest, it is still dependent on the dip switches.

The northbridge is also covered with a fan to cool it down. It helps in overclocking.

Here is how it looks like :
