Overclocker 14 Jan 2001

The KT133A chipset took the market by storm as it is one of the cheaper alternatives to DDR. Other than Gigabyte, a number of 2nd line companies have also launched their KT133A mainboards. Gigabyte is again the first 1st line company to launch their KT133A solution - Gigabyte 7ZXR(2.1)

Gigabyte 7ZXR is the second revision of the popular GA-7ZX. The second edition is GA-7ZXR which is a KT133 mainboard with RAID. GA-7ZXR (2.1) is the one that is based on the KT133A chipset and includs RAID using Promise chipset.

Well, Gigabyte is not going to spare the overclocking DIY users this time round. Gigabyte made a bold move by implementing full overclocking features onto the GA-7ZXR (2.1). It includes 5 configurable settings - multiplier adjustments, VI/O, Vcore, VAGP, FSB adjustments. That is probably most die hard Gigabyte fans have been waiting for.

Before we go into the details, let's take a look at the specifications on next page.
