Iwill KK266R Page 1
Overclocker 18 Jan 2001

Introduction

Well, if you have been reading our news page, you might have already noticed that this board is a champion ! It's able to run at an amazing 163Mhz FSB. If you have not, check out the main news page at our archives for news footage dated 17 Jan 2001.

Ok, let's get on with the review proper. Iwill KK266R is the successor to the Iwill KV200-R. Designed by the same team of people with a newer chipset, VIA KT133A which promises higher performance and overclockability.

Of all the KT133A boards we have reviewed so far, all of them make it to at least 143MHz on the same Duron 600 Week 29 processor. While some make it to 150Mhz, this new kid on the block made the first successful race into the 160Mhz arena.

Iwill KK266R features 266MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) Athlons coupled with 3 Phase Power to support up to 1.5GHz processor speeds, and native dual channel Ultra ATA-100 support for 4 IDE devices with option to upgrade to a quad Ultra ATA-100 channels supporting up to 8 IDE devices (RAID version). There is also a 4 channel CMedia Audio sound on board.

The easy to identify paper box which holds the Iwill KK266R. Within it, the neatly placed cables, manual, AMI RAID Support Diskette. Iwill definitely did a good job in the packaging of this product. It shows that they are dead serious to compete and excel among the different brands in this year!
