Introduction

Geforce2 GTS is one of the fastest graphic chip developed by nVidia. When you see the word "MX" behind the name Geforce2, do not think that it is the next generation high performance graphic chip. Geforce2 MX is nVidia's new solution to low-cost graphic card. It is based on the original Geforce2 GTS's structure, just that it has half the rendering pipelines, lower clocked core speed, slower memory performance, and much lower cost. Instead of comparing it with the Geforce2 GTS, you may rather want to compare it with the Geforce256.

The Geforce2 MX has most of the technology and features from the original Geforce2 GTS and nVidia's GPU family. Enhanced Transfor and Lighting (T&L) engines are integrated together with per pixel shading with hyper texel architectures. The chip was designed to have multi-head display and TV-out support as well. The version we got here is with one CRT display from MSI.
