PowerColor XR98T-D3 Radeon 9800XT Review (8)
Ken C 11th Nov 2003

Conclusion

Looking for an excellent performer supporting the DX9 games. The PowerColor XR98T-D3 Radeon 9800XT could be your choice. With a simple packaging that suits most gamers, this card is one of the better ones that reduces the costs with the basic items, no more no less.

The card resembles the reference card and I find that the fan spins slowly compared to the Radeon 9700pro series of cards. The larger fan is less noisy. We noticed that the heatsink covering the ram is quite warm during tests when overclocked.

The card defaults at 410 for core clock and we can managed to squeeze the maximum performance at 457Mhz. I think with a better heatsink, the overclocking of the card could be better (from 410->457).

Overall, it is a cheaper card compared to the big brands out there.
