A 5 way navigation joystick is located at the centre of the phone for instant access to the various functions of the phone. 3 other buttons (left, right, top) are for instant access to messaging, camera and control panel. These 3 buttons are also used for selecting options when it is operating in camera mode.

On the side are the volume controls and you can select speaker mode while in conversation. On the right hand side of the phone is the voice recording button.

SMS input speed is faster than the E398. You can also key in Chinese using Hanyu Pinyin. Similar to the E398, when you are in SMS mode and a new SMS comes in, you will not be notified until you go back to the main menu. This seems to be a bug that needs to be resolved in future firmware.

We are using Starhub, so we set it to Gee! GPRS. The web sessions seems to be a bit slow. It happened on the E398. A835 is much faster. Hopefully new firmware can resolve that.	Under Office tools, you have the standard calculator, shortcuts, databook (calendar), Alarm Lock, Voice Records etc. For Voice Records, you have to activate it with button on the right hand side of the phone.
