Kingston SSDNow M-Series 80GB Review
Bluetooth 8 Jul 2009

Introduction

With prices dipping and higher capacity drives available, SSD is now becoming a common part of DIY systems. Today, we take a look at Kingston's M Series SSD drive. For those who are familiar with SSD, the Kingston M Series drive actually is an OEM of the Intel X-25M SSDSA2MH080G1 drive with a capacity of 80GB. This is a 2.5" SSD Drive and it looks identical to the original Intel drive.

SSDNow M Series drives increase performance with the impressive input and output operations per second (IOPS), a result of the drive's NAND Flash components and the powerful Native Command Queuing. With higher IOPS than a standard mechanical hard disk drive (HDD), SSDNow M Series allows for faster boot times and faster application loads than HDDs, ultimately making a power user more productive.

SSD uses a standard hard disk drive interface but unlike an HDD, SSD is very rugged and can handle more shock because it's built with no moving parts. Kingston's SSDNow M Series can withstand greater shock than an HDD, making it an ideal solution for executives and road warriors who push the limits of their notebooks.

Kingston's SSDNow M Series drives are equipped with S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) to tell the user when a drive is about to fail.

For added peace of mind, the drives are backed by 24/7 tech support, a three-year warranty and legendary Kingstonฎ reliability.
