Overclocker 18 Nov 2002

The Mainboard

Gigabyte seems to have fall in love with colours. If you noticed, Gigabyte is probably the first to use bright orange for the P4 retention unit. AGP slot is coded in green, ATA133 RAID IDE ports in Green. The heatsink also looks beautiful isn't it?

5 PCI, 1 AGP slot. ON the left hand side of the photo, you would see the Intel Gigabit Ethernet chipset 82540EM. ALC650 5.1 audio chipset is used on this board.

The picture below shows the position of the DPS slot where you can plug in the DPS unit.

Dual RAID function supported by both the SiliconImage chipset (SATA RAID) and the Promise chipset (IDE RAID). THere is also Dual BIOS. The front panel connectors are colour coded for easy installation of front panel connectors.
