Intel Pentium 4 2.8G (1)
Overclocker 25 Aug 2002

We seldom write CPU reviews, so we are going to make it short and sweet. As we all know, AMD announced the AXP 2600+ last week. This week, Intel announces the P4 - 2.8Ghz CPU. Intel is again ahead of AMD in the Ghz race. In fact, with such stiff competition between the two CPU giants, It wouldn't be too long that new processors with lower pricing and better performance are release every quarter.

This new processor has a VID of 1.525v and is based on 512K L2 cache on a 0.13 Micron process.

In this short report, we will present you with scores of the new P4 2.8G using various benchmarks. Included in the review is a comparison with the P4 2.4B processor. All our tests are done on the AOPEN AX4G pro i845G mainboard running at the unofficial DDR333 mode. The ram timings are also set to the most aggressive timings at CAS 2. 2-2-5 timings.
