MSI 845E Max2 review is up

Still remember the good old days when we use the serial cable for data transfer between two PCs ? Does LapLink rings a bell for those who were previously doing their university years back in the mid 90s ? :)

As most users now own a PC and a notebook or two PCs, data transfer between two machines seems to be more important that ever. This is not only true for transferring of files but rather sharing of PC resources between two machines. e.g. Using one of the PCs as a Internet Sharing Gateway that routes packets to the machines within your own internet subnet.

Well, you might say, why not just get two NIC and hook up the cables ? Well you can achieve that too but what we want today is a wireless kind of solution. Why not IrDA then ? Well, for IrDA, you would need a line of sight. This is not very possible with a crowded desktop. How about 802.11b wireless LAN (Wi-fi compliant) at 11Mbps ? That is another possibility, but do you really need that kind of speed and it is costly to implement one. What we need might just be a simple solution to transfer small files, sync our PDA etc. This can be achieve now!

MSI introduces PC2PC-Bluetooth, First motherboard with Bluetooth solution, it comes with :-

On the next page, we take a look at the device and we do an evaluation of the performance of it.
