Shuttle AK35GTR (1)
Overclocker 22 Feb 2002

If you remember last year, Shuttle made quite a stir in it's Shuttle AK31 KT266 and later KT266A AK31 v3.1 mainboard. Due to the economic downturn, many users turned away from branded boards and tried out cheaper alternatives. To their surprise, the Shuttle AK31 series boards made quite a good impression on these users. From the price charts, we would see that the price of a Shuttle KT266A board is around USD 90 or so. It not only provides the basic necessary features, it also included a feast of overclocking features that users long for.

Shuttle introduced another model after the successful AK31 v3.1. This time round, they threw in HightPoint HPT372RAID on board which provides ATA-133 RAID. Although this board came to our labs just 2 weeks ago but was reviewed on other sites 2 months ago. We decided to still give it a spin and see how it compares to the rest of the KT266As and the KT333s.

The Shuttle AK35GTR as I have said is an improved edition of the AK31 v3.1. It is one of the few boards that features 4 DIMMs (Supports 6 banks up to 3 GB DRAMs (512Mb x8/x16 DRAM technology) for un-buffered DDR SDRAM module Supports 8 banks up to 4 GB DRAMs (512Mb x8/x16 DRAM technology) for register DDR SDRAM module No ECC function support), O/C features and 5.1 channel audio. It also comes

This is probably the only board that allows Vcore to be adjustable up to a high of 1.10v ~ 2.3v. Normal mainboard usually stop at a maximum of 1.85v while Shuttle provided more for the overclockers.

CPU Ratio is selectable from 5.5x ~ 12.5x. DDR voltage is selectable too from 2.5v, 2.55, 2.6, 2.7v. CPU Clock is adjustable from 133 ~ 200Mhz at 1Mhz stepping.

Below are the specifications of the board. The subsequent pages will be the gallery followed by benchmark results including SuperPI, Q3, etc.
