Considering that the default FSB of 200.48MHz on IC7-G and other boards overclocked to 202.xx by default, the performance levels of ABIT IC7-G good taking into consideration that overclocked of 1 or 2 Mhz actually skews the performance.

ABIT IC7-G is the only board that bundles more SATA RAID and no IDE RAID (on board) as this can be achieve through the use of its onward SATA connectors connected to Serillel converter. This would make it possible to make a IDE RAID 0 or 1 only and no 0+1. A pity that the package also gave 1 Serillel converter instead of 2. This would have given it maximum flexibility.

Another plus point is that ABIT IC7-G incorporates CSA LAN with the Intel® 82547EI Gigabit Ethernet Controller. CSA enables bi-directional Gigabit networking with higher performance and lower latency. Most other boards did not make use of it.

Other features on this board include the 2 ports for SATA RAID 0 (ICH5R) + 2 ports for RAID 0,1 using SiliconImage Sil3112A chipset. There is the Wi-Fi slot or on board integrated WI-FI like BIOSTAR or ASUS optional Wi-Fi Slot for upgradeability.  There is also no SCSI version of this board since it is meant as a workstation board.

The ABIT IC7-G is rock stable when we pair it up using 2 x CAS 2.5 DDR 333 Corsair TWINX512 pairs. Surprisingly at CAS 2, 5-2-2, it still works very well without the need to change the default DDR voltages.

This board provides a range of FSB that you could choose from. 100~412 FSB is selectable and voltage adjustments can be made for Vdimm, Vcore, VAgp through the BIOS. With a P4 2.4C, 275MHz FSB is easily achievable making it overclock from 2.4G to 3.3G by pumping up some of the parameters.

Overall, this board uses 4 phase voltage regulator design making it very stable and performance can be tuned up (202MHz BIOS ?). This board is one of the top boards to look out for if you intend to upgrade to Dual Channel DDR400.
