processor (conventional CPU, non-P4-Mobile). With the demand for better 3D,
Desknote A980 comes equipped with a Geforce 420 GPU in replacement of the
integrated video the chipset provides.
A980 uses conventional DDR memory (1 slot) and you can use up
to 1GB stick if you wish for best performance. If you need connectivity, there
are the USB 2.0, 1394, LAN port, 56K modem all built into the A980.
As it is a desktop replacement, it doesn't come with a battery
pack, thus you have to use it where you can find a 110v/220v AC adaptor.

Chipset The A980 features the SiS651/962 chipset with
integrated 256-bit 3D graphics accelerator for Intel Pentium 4 processors. The
graphics accelerator supports a shared memory size of up to 64MB, and also
supports advanced hardware acceleration for DVD playback. The AGP 4X interface
ensures crisp and clear graphics quality, while the chipset’s Ultra-AGPII
technology interconnects the integrated VGA chip and memory controller, allowing
data transfer rates up to 2GB per second. SiS' special MuTIOL technology
provides 533MB/s bandwidth to connect the chipset's north bridge and south
bridge.
DDR Memory Even the most memory-hungry applications will not
cause a problem for the A980, which is equipped with one DDR DIMM socket to
support up to 1GB of DDR SDRAM (DDR266 or DDR333).

(ATA100/66/33).
