OCWorkbench Readers' Award 2002

Best Graphics Card (Overclocking)

Although we don't get to see Albatron products so much compared to our readers in other parts of the world, the Albatron seems to have come out with graphics cards that appeals to our readers. With a high 19.7% over the other 2 cards, I think it is time we do some reviews of Albatron cards in the near future. Gigabyte GV-R9700 Radeon 9700Pro is second and it seems that this card does have some good potential in overclocking too during our review of this card. ABIT Siluro OTES is the card that has the OutSide Thermal Exhaust System design. We tested this card and yes it can overclock quite a bit.

Best Cost/Performance Ratio Graphics Card

Looks like most readers still prefer the ATi original Radeon 8500LE card. At 12.4% is the ECS Xabre 400 graphics card. SiS Xabre 400 cards are definitely cheaper than most, but performance still can be improved. As for 11.2% of our readers voted for the Radeon 9700pro, I suppose that they are willing to pay that extra bit for that extra 10 miles. Well that is why it's known as cost/performance Ratio :)

Best Package Graphics Card

Best Package does not only mean what is inside, but also the card's design e.g. heatsink, colour, software provided etc. Another fight between the top tier manufacturers. Gigabyte Radeon 9700Pro seems to be the chosen one among all. 2nd on the list is ABIT Siluro OTES and the third is the MSI GF4 Ti4600 VTD. All the packages provide all the connectors and additional games. In fact, my personal preference is the LiveVGA on MSI, well just a personal preference of being able to update the firmware of the graphics card remotely.

Gigabyte Maya II Radeon 9700Pro 38.7%
ABIT Siluro OTES GF4 Ti4200 18.7%
MSI GeForce Ti4600 VTD 17.5%
