The Battle For Middle-Ground - Nokia 7250 vs. SE T610

Introduction

The mobile market is getting saturated and there is no sign of it waning anytime soon. With more manufacturers entering the fray, there can only be one winner - the consumer. But as a business entity, manufacturers are at their wits' end trying to differentiate their baby from the next. With more choices and diverse set of features on offer, the consumer will have to be savvy enough to pick one best suited for his/her needs. Everyone knows that the top-of-the-line model is never gonna bring in the profit, it's the mid-range, the middle ground, that will sell and make the shareholders smile. Let's see how the NK 7250 and SE T610 stack up against one another.

Nokia 7250

Frankly, the review on the 7250 was done and polished a long time ago (many thanks to the webmaster for his patience) ... all ready for posting but it's bland to compare it with the Nokia 7210/6610 (which doesn't have a camera, to begin with). So I held off the review till I get my hands on the SE T610 .. well, let's get on with some intro on the NK 7250 first.

The NK7250 is basically a clone of the NK 7210/6610 with a facial makeover and some enhancements, most notably, an integrated camera and 5MB of usable storage space. Yes ... it has more memory than the top-of-the-line NK3650/7650, a Series60 phone with 4MB onboard. In fact, no one has more with the exception of the SE P800 (with 12MB onboard) and the MS Smartphone. The NK 7250 has what I like to call, the Mortal Kombat keypad. Cool, don't you  think? It may look odd to some but I must admit that it works amazingly well for me. The casing has a brushed hairline finish, giving it a metallic look with a pinch of hippie personality.

Hairline finish on cover. Camera lens on back.

Only slightly thicker than the NK 7210. Exposed camera lens on back.

Uses the same BLD-3 slimline battery. Very nice 'rocker' style keypad.

The two funky brothers - NK 7210 and NK 7250. Reunited with their business-brother - NK 6610.
