Gigabyte 3D Rocket-Pro Cooler PCU22-VG (3)
Bluetooth 2 Aug 2004

Installation

Installation is a breeze for this heatsink as we do not need to remove the existing retention unit. Furthermore, this heatsink fits K7, K8 and P4, thus there is no worry about getting the wrong heatsink for the wrong board. Even if you change your board, you can still use this heatsink.

The clips are labelled for K7, K8 or P4. The LGA775 retention module for LGA775 board. In our tests, we installed the Socket A AXP3200+ Barton. So we will use the K7 clip.

PCU22-VG has improved on the clip design with a groove that fits onto the base of the heatsink. This ensures the heatsink stability. Previous designs do not have that.

The rocket shaped duct can be removed. In that case, the blown out air will be directed to the VGA card and the DIMM.

K8 clip used and the heatpipe is attached snugly onto the CPU.

There is a catch underneath the heatsink which the clip is to be grooved onto.
