Bluetooth 23 Feb 2004

With the advancement of technology and also the popularity of making HTPC as small sized as possible, Gigabyte introduces GA-8TRS300M, a MicroATX mainboard which offers good value/performance which boosts P4 Hyperthreading performance with quality video output all within a small footprint.

The GA-8TRS300M powered by the latest ATI 9100IGP chipsets along with Gigabyte's unique technologies, the GA-8TRS300M delivers a new architecture to boost system performance. The new framework supports dual channel DDR 400, AGP 8X and Intel® Pentium® 4 800MHz FSB 3GHz+ processor with Hyper-Threading Technology. The P4 Titan™ 8TRS300M contains an integrated graphics core, the 9100 IGP, based on the Radeon 9200. Inherent to the 9100 IGP are 3D features that provide astounding visual imagery as well as enhance the overall multimedia experience. The GA-8TRS300M also provides a variety of features such as 6 USB 2.0 ports, 6-channel audio, 10/100Mbps network connection, and high speed ATA100 interface. The GA-8TRS300M delivers the best all-in-one solution and fulfills the requirements for a full range of applications today and for the future. There is also an AGP 8x slot which you could upgrade with another 3D performance accelerator graphics card.

With Microsoft DirectX 8.1 support, ATI's RADEON 9100 IGP is engineered to provide new levels in visual effects. Revolutionary support for pixel shading technology enables game play, business presentations and multimedia to reach cinematic levels of quality- all on an integrated platform. Superior system performance is fueled by the award-winning RADEON 2D/3D graphics technology, which lacks the slowed, choppy response times of traditional integrated 3D solutions. Based on the Radeon 9200 GPU, the ATi 9100 IGP chipset delivers a high bandwidth of up to 3.2GB/s through its 2 pixel rendering pipelines and 4 texture 3D graphics engine while its advanced hardware acceleration allows for DVD playback and shared memory size of up to 128MB. Advanced features such as ATI's SMARTSHADER™ technology enhances realism in game images and environments, Vertex Shaders adds rich detail to complex characters and surroundings, the innovative HYPERZ™ technology boosts memory performance while FULLSTREAM™ technology reduces blocks in Internet streaming video to produce sharper and crisper images.

So with all these capabilities, how does it perform with the integrated video or with an external VGA card ? Lets see in the next few pages.
