Installation

On page 1, we mentioned that the BIOS can be configured to 2 x 8, so where is the other 8x slot. The answer is in the picture below.

Do take note that this is a reference design. The actual retail boards by manufacturers might have a different implementation, perhaps a Jetway NF4 board sort of design with 3 PCI-E x 16 slots.

Before installing, the BIOS must be set to operate in 2 x 8 mode. With the riser card, the PCI-E x 16 slot can be split into 2 x PCI-E x 8 slots. There is a +12v connector which must be connected to make it work.

After that, mount the graphics cards horizontally by inserting them into the slots. Plug in the power connector. Finally, mount the bridge to interconnect the two 6600GT cards.
