Benchmarks PCmark2005

PCmark2005 tests a number of important items in today's computing world. File Compression, Encryption, Decryption, Audio Conversion, Web Page Rendering, WMV Video Compression, DivX Video Compression, Physics Calculation and 3D, Graphics Memory etc.

The scores are amazing. Using the old DDR modules, I am able to achieve a score of 7857, that is pretty good if you were to compare it with the Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6. When it runs in DDR2 mode, the overall performance is raised by another 100 over points to 8007.

With the individual CPU test segment, we see the big difference between the two. The Intel QX6700 is 14% ahead of the X6800.

In the chart above, we can see that X6800 has a poorer CPU score as it is Dual Core. With the QX6700, the scores are pretty close to one another. As we can see, the difference between using DDR and DDR2 is quite minimal considering that both are running in SYNC with the CPU at DDR2-533. DDR at CAS 2 while the DDR2 is run at CAS 3. The 965P runs at CAS 5, 5-5-18, 2T DDR2-800.
