ASrock AM2 CPU board sitting on K8Upgrade-1689

Installation has never been easy when dealing with upgrade cards like the AM2 CPU Board.

Firstly, you got to upgrade the latest BIOS to ver 2.4. Prior versions will not work recognise AM2 and will fail to POST.

Secondly, you would have to refer to the manual and set the jumpers accordingly. There are a number of jumpers on the mainboard which must be jumpered correctly before it will work. Once everything is correct. It is time to mount the card with CPU attached to the Board.

Once mounted, please check that the 20 pin power connector is plugged onto the mainboard while the 4 pin plug should be plugged onto the AM2 CPU Board.

Here is how it looks like with a pair of Corsair DDR2-800 and a Gigabyte ATi 9800XT AGP graphics card.
