Introduction

The first time I used SKYPE, I was quite surprised by the voice quality. After a while, I started using it to cut down on IDD costs. I got myself a pair of headset just for this purpose. If you are in an aircon room, I think wearing a headset is still so bad. Prolong talking will give me headache as headsets slip and might not fit well. In this part of the world where it is hot and humid, it becomes unbearable.

I was on the look out for Skype phones. There are some but they are generally more expensive and you have to plug the phone to the USB port of your notebook. Furthermore, you can really dial from the keypad of that phone. All calls still need to be made direct from the SKYPE interface or keying in the number of name of the person to dial to.

It seems that there aren't good solutions. Perhaps it could be good that I could just use one phone for VOIP and normal PSTN calls.

Well Digidock SP-4200 is the solution to that! With my cordless phone, I can actually make VOIP or PSTN calls from anywhere in my house. I no longer need to sit in front of my PC and make the call.

This device can also do the following :-

Incoming PSTN call.
Incoming Skype call.
Skypeout call (PC to Phone) from PSTN phone.
Skype call with speed dial from PSTN phone.
Multiple parties phone conference.
HDD voice mail (WAV).
HDD one touch conversation recording.
Non-intrusive audio setting, does not channel music into PSTN phone.
USB power, no other adaptor required.
Firmware upgrade function.
Incoming call hold and switch between PSTN and Skype.
