Foxconn 975X7AA-8EKRS2

Although it seems late to release a 975X mainboard, that didn't stop Foxconn from releasing its flagship 975x mainboard 975X7AA-8EKRS2H. A RoHS compliant, LGA775 motherboard based on the Intel 975X chipset and supporting the fastest Intel Extreme Edition, Pentium® D, and Pentium 4 processors. This mainboard provides dual PCI Express x16 graphics slots for ATI Crossfire™ video card solutions and the state-of-the-art “FOX ONE” central control system that lets experienced overclockers manually configure their systems for maximum gaming performance and lets less experienced users automatically and safely adjust major system components for increased performance and power efficiency.

The board’s Intel 975X Memory Controller Hub (MCH) supports the latest Intel performance and enthusiast processors, up to 8 GBs of dual-channel DDR2 667/533 memory, and dual PCI Express x16 slots. The seventh generation Intel I/O Controller Hub with RAID (ICH7R) and the Silicon Image 3132 companion chips provide six, RAID-capable, Serial ATA II/300 ports including one rear I/O eSATA port – a really useful feature, providing serial ATA device support without opening the chassis. Faster than USB 2.0, eSATA is perfect for attaching an extra SATA HDD or optical device. The dual PCI Express x16 slots on this Intel platform support ATI’s highly acclaimed, CrossFire technology, providing two, 8-lane PCI Express links for fabulous graphics performance. With an increasing number of PC game developers taking advantage of dual graphic card performance, the 975X7AA-8EKRS2H is ready for today and tomorrow’s gaming action.

The “FOX ONE” Advantage
The cutting edge “FOX ONE” central control system is designed exclusively for FOXCONN motherboards with Intel chipsets. It enables the automatic monitoring of a PC's system status, including system frequencies, voltages and temperatures, as well the automatic and intelligent adjustment of major system components. It also gives users the ability to make extensive manual adjustments. FOX ONE technology enables users to choose between six modes: Auto, Manual, Power Gaming, Data Mining, Office, and Energy Saving. FOX ONE's predefined modes (i.e., all those except Auto and Manual) make it easy for users to tailor their systems to match performance needs without the risk of damaging the CPU or other components.

Rounding It Out
The 975X7AA-8EKRS2 has a Realtek ALC882H onboard audio codec for 8-channel (7.1 surround), high definition audio (HDA) playback and includes optical and coax S/PDIF outputs. The board supports up to eight USB 2.0 ports. Dual Marvell 8053 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) PCIe controllers provide high performance, dual port, LAN connectivity.
