The Test

In the test, we attached a temperature probe from the multimeter at the bottom of our notebook, the Acer Aspire 3000 Sempron 2800+ notebook. The probe is put at the centre of notebook (That is where the OEM sticker is). We first let it run video streaming and surf the net as per normal usage, placing it on a normal desktop table. The temperature rised from the 33 Deg celsius to 48 Deg Celsius after 30 minutes of usage.

After that, we quickly removed the notebook and place it on the G-PAD. The temperature reading fluctuates for a while and starts dropping while video streaming is still continuing via the WiFi connection. We see a drop to a stable reading of around 40-41 Deg Celsius.

Conclusion

With the G-PAD, the temperature dropped by almost 8 degrees, that is quite substantial I would say for a fanless design "heatsink" for the notebook.

As most of the notebooks do not have a rised flooring for air flow, the G-PAD looks like a good companion for notebooks that belong to this category. The Athon mobile users should find this gadget very useful to remove the heat generated from the CPU within the notebook too.

Overall, G-PAD does its job and it is foldable and has 0dB noise level. This is an accessory that we have wanted long before. We highly recommend this product to notebook users.
