Nokia N80 WCDMA/ GSM 900/1800/1900 3mpixel Symbian Camera Phone 3/5
Bluetooth 29 June 2006

Usage

The phone takes a while to initialise during power up. Sliding up the phone allow you access to the keypad for SMS. Changing to T9 input etc is easier as the buttons are bigger than the N91.

Multimedia

On the N80, it comes with 2 lens, this allows one to use it for video call. This is definitely a plus compared to the more expensive N91 which only comes with one.

This cmos camera is a 3mpixel camera and you can take photos using it. Shooting modes can be set to User defined, Potrait, Landscape or for Night shoot, sports, night langscape, night potrait, candlelight etc. Flash, White Balance and Colour tone can also be adjusted. Images can be taken up to a max. resolution of 2048x1536.

As for video, videos can be taken at max 352x288 and at maximum or minimum length. For video, the restriction to the length of video is based on the amount of storage space you have on the phone or card.

The realplayer can be used to playback video clips. MP3 and aac files are playback in Stereo. The visual Radio also makes it easy to tune in to the radio for leisure or important announcements. It can be set to run in the background. Incoming calls will suspend the radio and after hanging up, radio continues.

Connectivity

This phone has SD slot as external memory. With that in mind, memory storage is not a major issue.

Transferring of images, ringtones and Java apps are easy as you can choose to use the bluetooth,  GPRS/3G or  USB. If you use Bluetooth, the relevant file types will also be dumped into the message inbox which you can click to install or view.

Audio and Ringtones

The N80's ringtone seems a bit software than the N91's ringtones. Sometimes it might be good to set it up to run in virbation mode if you are in a noisy environment.
