Performance - PCmark05

A Hitachi SATA II 3.0Gbps Hard Disk is installed in the enclosure. Using PCmark05 HDD test suite, we perform the tests in USB and SATA mode with the ASrock 939SLI32-eSATA2 mainboard. Below are the results break down of the two tests.

Clearly, with SATA interface, we are getting very close results with an attached SATA I HDD whereas when we use a USB interface, the results dropped across all the tests. When we compare this result with the Vantec we tested sometime ago, the result is slightly lower when we use the SATA interface. This is probably because the interface only supports SATA 1.5Gb/s.
