AMD also announced a new processor today at the Akiba event. The new processor is the Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Black Edition. It is rated at 3.2GHz. According to early data The CPU will have 2MB L2 cache and built on 90nm SOI. The TDP could be 125W.

The presenter also showcase the upcoming products with its newest roadmap. As we can see from the chart, by year end, we should be seeing RD790 chipset mainboard pairing up with Quad Core, HT 3.0 2M L3 cache processors. In the upcoming year, there is a new chipset AMD RD8XX and we shall see processors having more L3 cache of up to 6MB.

As for notebook, the Turion64 X2 will be taken over by Griffin in 2008. Chipset would also be supporting UVD, DX10, HyperFlash etc.
