ConRoe1333-D667 945GC A2 Mainboard Review
- Conclusion Conclusion
Although 945GC A2 is a newer stepping of the 945G, it shares similar functionalities with the 945G. The ConRoe1333-D667 is somewhat scaled back as Rev 1 has Fast Ethernet while Rev 2.0 comes with GbE. It only has 2 DDRII dimm slots to support up to a max. of 4GB of RAM. Basic o/c features are also in with Boot failure guard and ASRock U-COP. The integrated graphics just like the 945G boards can have a max shared memory of 224M. It is also Vista Premium certified with 7.1 Ch Vistaâ„¢ Premium level HD Audio (ALC888 Audio Codec). This board is VISTA PREMIUM Hardware Ready. Thus, you can get ready to take advantage of the Aeroglass and HD Audio features for VISTA. The board has some overclocking features with adjustments of the CPUCLK, ASync settings, ram timing adjustments, voltage adjustments. You can check the gallery for more details. We were able to reach 355 x 7 on E6300 using SATAII HDD and 420x7 with IDE HDD. In terms of performance, the board did well in the tests in comparison with other equivalent boards. As for video quality, we can't expect it to match the high end graphics cards. In conclusion, this board is suitable for basic HTPC use. It has a scaled down specification compared to the ConRoe1333-DVI/H as it doesn't come with any DVI card nor support HDCP. For those who wants to play with o/c and are still using IDE HDD, this may be a budget board for you to try out.
