Image Quality and HQV scores improved with Catalyst 7.3 on AMD 690G
Bluetooth 30 March 2007

Improved image quality

With this new version which we forced installed into the sytsem, we get perfect scores for all the Cadence test (8 x 5= 40 points). In addition to that, we are able to get 3:2 detection lock in within 2 secs. Previously, it was all moire and looks terrible with earlier drivers.

The only regret is that this driver is still unable to enhance the the jaggies that appeared in the pattern 1, 2 and flag tests. Noise reduction and Adaptive Noise reduction runs with noticable noise.

From the above tests, the total score is > 80 points. For an integrated chipset to achieve such a good score is not easy. Previously, the best was SiS 771. With the NVIDIA MCP68 ready to be launched anytime, will AMD 690G still be able to maintain the chipset that has the best image quality? We shall see.

ATi card users and AMD 690G users, do try out and post your
findings in our Graphics forum.
