ECS roll-out new Bearlake motherboard series at Computex 2007

Milton Keynes, England, 29th May, 2007 - Elitegroup Computer Systems Inc. (ECS), leading global motherboard and notebook manufacturer is set to unveil its latest Motherboard series at this year’s Computex exhibition. The new series from ECS which includes the new P35T-A and G33T-M motherboards is based on Intel’s new Bearlake technology.

Introducing the new ECS G33T-M:

The new ECS G33T-M motherboard has been designed to satisfy the demands of the digital home user. It features a lower TDP to ensure slimmer and smaller form factors typical to Digital Home design and includes Intel Quiet System Technology providing a less interruptive and quieter solution for the home.

The new G33T-M supports; Intel Core2 Duo CPUs with up to 1333MHz FSB and Core 2 Quad up to 1066MHz FSB, and Dual Channel DDR2 memory up to 8GB via 4 x DIMMs, for super fast computing.

The G33T-M boasts the capability to provide users an amazing audio and video experience for the true HD digital Home. It supports 8-channel high definition audio output to deliver premium digital sound and advanced high-definition video playback for next generation HD applications. It incorporates Intel GMA 3100 graphics but a PCI Express slot also provides the flexibility to accommodate an additional graphics card to enhance the graphics performance for more demanding requirements.

An abundance of connectivity is possible, utilizing; 4x USB 2.0, 1x D-Sub, 1x PS2, 1x Serial, 1x IEEE1394a, 1x RJ45 LAN, 1x Audio Output, 1 x PCI Express (x16) slot, 1 x PCI Express (x1) slot and 2 x PCI slots a wealth of add-on accessories become available.

Introducing the new P35T-A:

The P35T-A’s cutting edge design provides the perfect solution for both gamers and performance users. The P35T-A motherboard supports Intel Core 2 Duo and Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad-Core processors for MEGA tasking, supports Intel ViiV Technology and up to 8GB Dual Channel DDR2 Memory with advanced overclocking features.

It provides 2x PCI Express X16 slots (X16, X4) supporting the ultimate multi-GPU gaming platform, ATI CrossFire, which unites multi GPU power to propel gaming into a new era of performance and 8-channel high definition audio to provide realistic, rich quality sound for the latest HD games.

Most motherboards are designed as standard to incorporate 4x USB 2.0 ports, however ECS has recognized that performance users and gamers sometimes require even more connectivity for the many add-ons available on the market. To meet these users’ needs and ultimately eliminate the need for any additional USB2.0 expansion hub, the new P35T-A features UEIO Technology (Ultra Expandable I/O Technology) conveniently supporting 6x USB 2.0 ports. It also features 1x eSATA port with the latest eSATA technology which is highly recommended for external HDDs as it has a better transfer rate than that of the conventional USB 2.0 interface. Other connections include; 2 x PCI Express x16 slots (1 x16, 1 x4), 1 x PCI Express x1 slot, 3 x PCI slots, 1x PS2, 1x Serial, 2x IEEE1394a, 1x RJ45 LAN and 1x Audio Output.

Bearlake:

ECS Bearlake motherboards have improved performance and efficiency thanks to the Northbridge chipset they feature. The only chipset supporting the forthcoming 45nm-process microarchitecture CPU, the Northbridge chipset ensures that users are future proofed for future technology upgrades. These chipsets feature a 1333 MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) to work seamlessly with Intel’s new ICH9 Southbridge I/O chip. The ICH9 Southbridge will have at least three different versions, the ICH9R with added support for RAID storage, the ICH9DH which supports an additional 2 SATA ports and the ICH9 which will offer a useful new feature called ‘Intel® Robson Technology’, which not only improves system responsiveness while saving power but also allows users to boot and quickly system recover. The Bearlake chipset also allows support for DDR3 Memory.
