Jetway M2A692-GDG (AMD 690G) Mainboard Review - Overclocking
Bluetooth 28 Feb 2007

Overclocking

As shown in the gallery pages, Jetway M2A692-GDG has more options in overclocking, especially in terms of voltage options and HTT range.

In our test, we boosted the HTT to 275MHz and was able to get it running stable at 2.75GHz. The CPU Vcore is set to 1.5v and HT Multiplier at 800MHz (4x). The DIMM voltage is set to 2.05v. RAM is set to run at DDR400 (making the ram and cpu run in Sync) to ensure that the DDR2 is not limiting the high HTT.

For the integrated video, we explored ways to tune up the GPU clk. On the Jetway board, there aren't any options available in the BIOS which allows us to tune the GPU CLK/RAM. We used the Winclk application and found that the default GPU CLK/RAM CLK were 400/450. That explains why Jetway ran slightly faster compared to the other two 690G boards. Anyway, we are unable to change the memory timing, the only thing we can tune is the GPU CLK.

We managed to push the GPU CLK to 568/450. Our final scores for 3dMark06

At 400/450 : 310 (142/na/1541)
At 568/450 : 335 (154/na/1544)

That is almost a 8% increase in performance.
