DOOM 3

In DOOM3, we take take a look at various AA + AF combinations of the 4 cards based on various GPUs. The Powercolor is based on ATi HD 2600XT, Chaintech and ECS are 8600GTS and GIgabyte is a 8600GT.

From the chart, we can see that the PowerColor is performs slightly better than the Gigabyte 8600GT card at normal resolution of 1600x1200 with no AA/AF.

When we apply the 8xAA + 4xAF on Powercolor card, we get 21.5fps. In comparison, the equivalent on Gigabyte 8600GT drops to 19fps. When we apply full AA/AF on both cards, Powercolor HD 2600XT maintains a 21.3fps while the Gigabyte 8600GT drops further to 10fps.

Compared to the 8600GTS, Powercolor HD2600XT is definitely slower. The interesting result would be at 8xAA+4xAF, the 8600GTS card's result dropped from 73fps to 26.9fps. If you intend to run at this AA/AF combination, the Powercolor HD 2600XT might not be that bad of a choice considering the price and performance.
