ASRock P43DE Intel P43 ICH10 chipset mainboard review - Introduction

Introduction

 

We have seen a couple of new ASRock P45 boards with WiFi-N, eSATA, 1394 features. Today, we will take a look at a discrete entry level P43 board for the LGA775 processors.

ASRock P43DE supports the  FSB 1600/1333/1066/800MHz LGA 775 for Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme / Core™ 2 Quad / Core™ 2 Duo / Pentium® Dual Core / Celeron® Dual Core / Celeron®, supporting Penryn Quad Core Yorkfield and Dual Core Wolfdale processors.  It is based on the Intel® P43 + ICH10 Chipsets and supports Dual Channel DDR2 1200/1066/800/667, 4 x DIMM slots, Max. capacity up to 16GB. It has a 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (green @ x16 mode) for external graphics card. It has 6 x SATAII 3.0 Gb/s connectors, support NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug functions. The board also supports a PCIE Gigabit LAN 10/100/1000 Mb/s from Realtek. It also has a 1 x USB/WiFi header. In terms of audio, it uses a VIA 1708S which supports 7.1 CH Windows® Vista™ Premium Level HD Audio with Qsound.

Other features on this board include I. O. T. (Intelligent Overclocking Technology), ASRock Instant Boot, Smart BIOS, ASRock OC Tuner, Intelligent Energy Saver, Extra ESD Protection.
