Designed to improve user experiences, the latest VAIO notebooks feature ergonomic design, advanced technologies, high-definition screens and one-touch access buttons for greater performance and ease

 

Sony Singapore today unveiled two design-oriented VAIO notebooks, VAIO CW and VAIO NW, which cater to the constantly connected and style-conscious consumers. The attention to detail in the latest VAIO notebooks will not only please style maestros but ensure all consumers enjoy maximum comfort with its ergonomic design. With Real Wide 16:9 aspect ratio high-definition screen, advanced technologies, and user-friendly functions, the VAIO CW and NW Series promises better performance as an ideal lifestyle companion for both entertainment buffs and casual notebooks users alike.

VAIO CW Series - A stylish multimedia notebook for the creative generation


For consumers who use notebooks for their daily entertainment fix, the VAIO CW Series is equipped with advanced performance features for exceptional 3D gaming and video experiences. Pre-installed with Windows 7, the VAIO CW is feature-packed with powerful NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 230M GPU with 512MB of VRAM, DDR3 Memory and Intel® Centrino® 2 processor.

Gamers will also appreciate the 14-inch Real Wide LCD screen on the VAIO CW Series, which is able to showcase high definition visuals in vibrant true-to-life colours.

Users who enjoy creating personal videos and digital photo albums will be pleased to know that the VAIO CW includes Sony’s proprietary Media Gallery, a new programme which enables intuitive operation for accessing music, photos as well as video with just a push of a button. Additionally, users can easily create their own high-definition short clips with their favourite music tracks without the need to access various software applications for different media files. For those who enjoy web chats with loved ones, the new model also comes with an in-built camera with Magic-i.

Priming on comfort, the VAIO CW Series will feature the popular isolation keyboard, which helps reduce mistyping and contributes to a fatigue-free computing experience. Additionally, the VAIO CW will have a touchpad with gesture function, in which users can have a smoother control, with just a simple flick to navigate around web pages or a circling motion to scroll through documents.

Bringing about unprecedented convenience, a nifty Quick Web Access button is also incorporated on the new VAIO CW. The function enables consumers to access the Internet from shut down mode, hence minimising start-up time for users. Additionally, the inclusion of the DISPLAY OFF button helps conserve power by letting users turn off only the screen display, enabling a quick resume with just one convenient push of a button.

Featuring eye-catching glossy colours of Black, White, Red, Blue, Pink, the luxurious feel and look will appeal to personalities from all walks of life. Matching the high-gloss exterior is a colour-graduated palm rest and stylish muted interior. Additionally, colour-coordinated accessories such as carrying cases, mouse and speakers will also be available.

 

VAIO NW Series – Nature-inspired desktop replacement


Created for users who are seeking a desktop replacement, the VAIO NW Series’ 15.5” widescreen display with 16:9 aspect ratio allow users to comfortably view their favourite videos and photos at much ease and comfort. The large screen display also enables users to view two full web pages at any one time.

Taking its inspiration from nature, the VAIO NW Series is designed with a textured surface that is inspired by visual motifs of the natural world, adding to the classy design factor of the notebook. The two-tone colour, waved body form and clear touch pad with dotted pattern accentuates its style factor and enhances the usability and comfort factor for users of the new VAIO NW Series notebook. Additionally, the reverse hinge design effectively hides the point where the display and the back of the keyboard meets, resulting in a slimmer profile.

The VAIO NW Series is a fast and reliable performer with an Intel CoreTM2 Duo processor, ATI Mobility Radeon TM HD 4570 graphics card, 320 GB hard disk drive and 2GB of RAM. HDMI output is also available, and the VAIO NW will be pre-installed with the new Windows 7. As an eco-conscious model, the VAIO NW is ENERGY STAR 5.0 compliant, and it comes in a slim package that comprises of 98 percent recycled content. The VAIO NW Series is available in three colours – Brown, White and Black.

Similar to the VAIO CW, the VAIO NW Series will feature the popular isolation keyboard and touchpad with gesture function, in which users can have greater control. For greater convenience, the Quick Web Access and DISPLAY OFF buttons are also included.

The VAIO CW and NW Series will be available in Singapore from end October 2009.
