Conclusion
ASRock H55M Pro is a Clarkdale board with steroid. Not only does it run fast, it has many unique features which other vendors did not bother to include in their design. The support for older LGA775 and Power eSATA/USB is such a nice thing to have for a potential HTPC board. The addition of a second full length PCIe slot make it one of the first H55 board to support CrossFire. On top of that, the BIOS is well engineered with so many options for end users to tinkle with. For the lazy overclockers, there is also the EZ OC option available. Just set it and boot it. Different from the ASUS is that the ASRock does not have an option for one touch overclocking. We have already seen the performance. Although it is running at a higher clock speed, I think even at BCLK of 133MHz, it should be able to be on par with other boards or even better. Although I love the features of this board, documentation about it is lacking in the manual. The packaging is also quite simple and does not come with extras. It would be nice to have more details than having a thick multilingual menu. For overclocking, you can use the EZ OC or manual settings or ASRock OC Tuner to help. We managed to get a bclk of 171Mhz x 25 on the Core i5 661 processor stable at 1.325v.
In conclusion, the ASRock H55M Pro board is a good consideration for your Clarkdale dream. Even if you decide one day you want to use standalone graphics, you can always extend it's capability with an external graphics card or 2 for CrossFireX. Other than the missing GPU clock setting, the Pros already override the cons. Price of this board ~ USD 110. *Update : ASRock released a new BIOS which enable end users to tune up the GPU CLK.
